Léa Seydoux & Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (2011)

Léa Seydoux. I just saw her in Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol (2011). She is hot in a not-always-hot-looking kind of way. But I guess that could be said about any woman, right?

Anyhow, I was watching 'Protocol' and she was walking toward a guy and she was sexy and lethal looking. Turns out she was both! Then later on in the movie she fights with Paula Patton in a hotel room and she's even hotter then. Watching her kick ass was pretty cool! It's a pity this was 'Protocol' and not something like 'Lady Assassin's Lovers!"

I had to Google her to see what else she has played in. I've seen a few of her other movies but I don't recall seeing her in them. Doesn't mean she wasn't noticeable. Just that I probably didn't pay too much attention or it's been a while since I've seen them. I did find a NSFW image in an American Apparel ad. I knew she looked good underneath that assassin apparel!

'Protocol' was an alright movie. I like all the Mission: Impossible movies and this one wasn't that different in story line or creation. I felt like this had more of a comedic value with Simon Pegg playing a role but it was still a decent movie. It was a good watch and what sticks with me most, other than Léa, is how funny Tom Cruise aka Ethan Hunt runs in this movie. Weird, I tell ya...just weird.

FINAL VERDICT: I'd watch it again.

Edward Furlong & High Hopes (2006)

Dude, what the hell happened to John Connor?

From this:

from The Terminator

To this:

from High Hopes (2006)

Scary!

FINAL VERDICT: Even though I didn't write any specifics about the movie, I would pass on it. It just wasn't as good or funny as I expected it to be with the 'comedic' cast.

Kevin Smith - Too Fat for 40 (2010)

Kevin Smith - Too Fat for 40 (2010). I watched this back around the first week in December 2011 via Netflix. I must say that I wasn't all that impressed. As far as stand-up goes, Kevin Smith sucks. I know he's not a stand-up comic and I think he admits as much in the show. I just really didn't get the point of the show. It was slow, boring, and I found myself wanting him to channel Silent Bob and have Jay appear to make the show interesting.

I feel sorry for all the suckers who purchased tickets to attend his show live. I would have been very disappointed but I also would have never purchased in the first place. There aren't many "really" funny people that I would pay to see. Maybe Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy, Ron the 'Drunk', George Carlin, Richard Pryor or Howie Mandel (before he became really weird).

I think Kevin should stick to making 50/50 movies: half are good/decent and the other half are shit. He's almost like Adam Sandler these day but Sandler seems to have a bigger following which continues to encourage him to make some shit movies. However, it does speak volumes at the money Sandler must have since his Saturday Night Live days with his Happy Madison Productions and such. Anyway...

FINAL VERDICT: I wouldn't waste your time with Too Fat for 40. It was mind-numbing, horrible and I barely endured it. I had to watch some high-action movies or something after to get over the downer 'Too Fat' caused.

Warm Summer Rain (1989)

Warm Summer Rain (1989). I recently was browsing the "watch instantly" queue in Netflix and saw this movie listed. I saw that it had Kelly Lynch and was curious.

I had a small crush on Kelly Lynch since I saw Road House.

I don't know if her role in this movie was before or after Road House as I didn't do deep research into the two movies. However, the acting or maybe just her role was way worse in this movie than in Road House. So, either she nailed the audition for Road House or she didn't become as famous as she thought she would and took the Warm Summer Rain role to make money.

Either way, I did have hopes that she would be nude either partially or fully because of seeing her role in Road House.

I wasn't disappointed: NSFW pic here.

FINAL VERDICT: As far as the story line and overall acting, it's passable. Sometimes I wonder how shit movies actually get made. Even the straight-to-DVD flicks cost money and I'm not sure that cost is ever recouped. Oh well.

Lake Consequence (1993)

Lake Consequence (1993). I remember when Joan Severance was one of the 'new' B-movie girls during the 1990s. It was almost like she was in competition with Shannon Tweed but I think Tweed made double or even triple that of Severance.

I was browsing Netflix this evening and came across a movie that had Joan Severance in it. I had to reminisce. I think I've seen all her movies that mattered...which are those that had her nude in them. You know, the important ones.

Apparently I either missed this one or don't remember it at all. IMDB says it's a TV movie but I'm think it means straight to cable. Interestingly, this movie had a young Billy Zane...which he apparently hasn't had a lot of hair on his head for sometime.

FINAL VERDICT: Anyway, I think you can pass on watching Lake Consequence. If you have the undying desire to watch this, at least you'll get a few chances to see Severance in the buff as well as one other pretty attractive woman.

The Day the Earth Stopped (2008)

The Day the Earth Stopped (2008). This is a total rip off of all the other "The Day the Earth..." died, stood still and any others like that.

What sucks is this movie sort of started out with so much potential. The "destroyer of earth" in the movie who just happens to be a very hot chick lands on earth and is totally and completely naked walking around the forest for about the first three minutes of the movie. I was thinking, "Damn, this may not suck after all!" Too bad that was the best part of the movie.

The sad thing about this movie is that C. Thomas Howell directed and "starred" in this craptastic version. There was also a brief appearance by Judd Nelson. Judd was billed as "starring" but he has like 5-10 minutes in the very last part of the movie. Poor Pony Boy and John Bender...are they this hard up for cash or to maintain work...because this isn't what I would want to be remembered for.

This movie was worse for C. Thomas Howell because if he wanted to be taken somewhat serious as a director, I'd have to say he failed. Don't get me wrong. I've always like the guy but his attention to detail is way off. Granted there are budgets and shit but this was made in 2008 and I think even something like iMovie could have edited out some of the flawed scenes. I'll just poke fun of a few.

First, this female destroyer lands on Earth naked. She's "saved" by Howell's character because he thinks she's been hurt or something because she's on a highway in the forest naked. He later finds out she's the other alien they've been looking for because they already caught one. Anyway, she's taken back to this makeshift base and clothed. She's wearing white sweatpants, a white wifebeater and a bra. She's a freaking alien for George Lucas's sake. She doesn't need or even care for using a bra! Hell, she's already flashed her boobies so what difference would a bra make anyway!?

Second, there is a part where Howell is relieved of duty because of his insubordination in not wanting to harm the femalien. He leaves the base but comes back because saving her is the right thing to do. He gets back inside the base just as the alien robots send out an EMP, essentially killing anything (which is everything in the world!) that runs on electricity for an uncertain amount of time. He gets the femalien to one of the governmental SUVs and it won't start. DUH! The femalien uses her powers to start the car and they escape. They are driving within the city when Howell decides to stop for some stupid reason in the middle of the street. He is dumbfounded and asks to the femalien, "How did you do that?" I mean really! Who the hell cares!? You escaped be happy and don't ask 'why' or 'how.' Idiot! So before he can get an answer this gun-wielding guy jumps on the hood and tells them to get the hell out of the car because he's carjacking them as they have the only running vehicle in town! The camera angle is behind the carjacker looking through the windshield and somewhat over the vehicle just in time to see a "boys in blue" vehicle pass by in the distance. "Only working vehicle" huh? That's what we call bad editing and as the director, Howell should have seen that.

Third, there is a 'chase' scene within the city near the end of the movie. Yes, after all the electronics have recovered from the EMP. Howell is once again in a hijacked governmental SUV and is being followed by other governmental SUVs. They make the same right turn over about 5-7 mins of run time. You can see the same building, the same fencing, the same road and the same random objects caught in the frame. Yes, it's the reuse of the same clip. The least they could have done was filmed it on a street without distinguishable scenery or props.

FINAL VERDICT: Well, I didn't go into this with high expectations to begin with. I felt like it was going to be a made-for-TV movie on the Sci-Fi channel but those movies are actually better! I mean this was made in 2008 and the technology was still very good with CGI and such that they could have created better footage in some teenage kids garage! If you have Netflix, the best footage of this movie happens in the very beginning with the femalien walking nude in the forest. After that, you can watch if you want as long as your expectations are low...very low.

Sean John Unforgivable

I needed to get some new cologne as I ran out a few weeks ago of my 4.2oz bottles Dolce & Gabbana and Drakkar. I ordered last from an online store called FragranceNet.com because it was much cheaper than getting it from Neiman Marcus or Macy's at NorthPark Mall.

I decided to try something different as I can always get more Dolce or Drakkar online but I was told that sometimes local stores run specials (like gift packs and such) during the holidays.

So off to NorthPark Center and we stopped by Macy's. My wife tutors a kid and she says he always smells pretty good (she's a fucking flirt). LOL! Anyway, she asked him what he wears and he said Sean John - yes, that's Puffy! She said she liked it a lot and said I should try it. Luckily, Macy's had some and I took the whiffing test. It wasn't too bad. Not too bad in fact, that I ended up purchasing the 4.2oz bottle. I like the bigger amounts because I don't want return to the stores too often to buy more. It wastes my time.

Anyway, we smelled some others to see if there was anything else NEW that I would like to try. Usher's wasn't too bad. I started to feel like I was becoming a hip-hop junkie with liking these guys' fragrances. I ended up just going with Sean John and what do you know, the sales lady tells me about a gift pack they are giving away that is the same price as the 4.2oz bottle. The pack includes the same 4.2oz bottle but also an after shave balm and a shower gel all in a nice (too fancy actually) box. I don't know what the shower gel is used for but I could use the after shave when I shave...once a week.

So, anyway, if you are male or female looking for a male scent (weird), I recommend Sean John Unforgivable. For $75.00 you can smell like a hip-hop artist!

Here are some pics of the fanciness...

Lost in Translation (2003), Catwoman (2004)

The Door in the Floor. Stars Jeff Bridges and Kim Basinger. I won't tell you the premise. You can Google it. I will tell you that Kim's character ends up having sex with a young male, probably between 18-20 yrs old. He's never had sex before and let me tell you...how she shows him the joys of sex. It's nothing graphic and you really don't get to see her naked but it's just amusing how the boy gets busted masterbating while looking at a bra and panties of Kim's by Kim.

The movie is a FOCUS Productions movie, and in case you didn't know, they seem to be the new artsy-fartsy production company. You know the kind. Those that make no sense to normal people but somehow others find a great story line, great acting, or somehow a great movie. For example, Lost in Translation starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johanssen. That movie was weird, slow, boring and I don't know who said it should win any awards except at the artsy-fartsy awards because they seem to be the only ones that understand it. One movie Focus did make that was actually funny and interesting was The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It was still weird but at least it was understandable and somewhat enjoyable.

My recommendation for any of these is leave the first two lost in the floor of translation. Rent Spotless Mind or better yet, borrow it from a friend when they rent it.

Catwoman. I can't say that I would have been happy if I paid $7.00 for this movie at the theater.
It is based off a comic book character but it just wasn't believable or fantastical enough for me. It stars the Halle Berry and Sharon Stone.

Again, I won't go into the whole story so look it up if you need. Halle's character dies by drowning. A mysterious cat breathes life back into her. All fine and dandy at this point. I can go with that. It is fictional and a movie so I'll go with it. The part that sucks is that all of a sudden Halle's character fights like Jackie Chan and moves like Spiderman. Now the story did say ancient mystical cats have given reborn life to people in the past for centuries but who would have thought they'd become a crazy ninja bitch?!

Now when I say she moves like Spiderman, I mean almost exactly like it but without the web slinging. She can climb walls just like Spidey. She leaps from high roof top to high roof top in a single bound — the distance between each roof is a good 50-100 feet. Yes, I know. It's amazing!

So anyway, final thought is...let someone else you know buy/rent it and you borrow it from them.

Well, that's about all I have now. I'll probably mix in some future movie reviews as I see more movies. I'm part of the online renting from Blockbuster so I'll be watching tons of movies over for months to come.
